Revd Canon Dr John Thewlis left the parish on 16 July 2017, and has moved to Herefordshire. He had been with us since 2001, and this is a big wrench for us all.
The process for filling a vacancy is described in this Diocesan document.
Katherine took excellent photos of John's leaving party which you can view here: All Saints Church - Simon Lee Photography. She is willing for you to copy them for your own use.

Is Luther, for Catholics, still the enemy? Or is his theology increasingly accepted, even in Rome? Come and find out more at a talk by the Right Reverend Paul Hendricks, Auxiliary Bishop for the RC Archdiocese of Southwark on Tuesday 24th October 2017 at 7.30 p.m. at Carshalton Methodist Church, Ruskin Road, Carshalton. The church council has been told that we have now been given enough money to buy an extra solo trumpet stop for the organ. We are very grateful to everyone who contributed to the cost. The organ builder is now designing the modification, and the pipes are in stock.
Carshalton is part of the Deanery of Sutton, which corresponds roughly to the geographical area of the Borough of Sutton. Every few months there is a meeting of members of the Anglican churches in the Deanery at the Deanery Synod, at which matters of general interest are discussed and representatives on the Diocesan and General Synods are elected. Minutes of the May 2017 Synod meeting are here (82 kB).
