The Easter Vestry and Annual Parochial Church Meeting will be held at 11 am on Palm Sunday 9 April 2017. Reports will be presented, and elections will be held including election of Deanery Synod representatives to serve for the next three years.
We apologise that the church is cold at the moment, because our heating system has failed. Unfortunately the faulty parts are in an inaccessible position. We are pressing for it to be repaired as soon as possible, but in the meantime we are unable to heat the building. We are holding 8 o'clock low masses in the Lady Chapel, where it is slightly warmer, for the time being; please enter via the south (tower) door.
We are asked to indicate renewed support for the proposed Church Secondary School in Sutton. Details are shown on this flier.

The Rector, Revd Canon Dr John Thewlis, has announced that he intends to retire in summer 2017, following which he will move to Herefordshire. He has been with us since 2001, and this will be a big wrench for us all.
The church council has been told that we have now been given enough money to buy an extra solo trumpet stop for the organ. We are very grateful to everyone who contributed to the cost. The organ builder is now designing the modification, and the pipes are in stock.
Carshalton is part of the Deanery of Sutton, which corresponds roughly to the geographical area of the Borough of Sutton. Every few months there is a meeting of members of the Anglican churches in the Deanery at the Deanery Synod, at which matters of general interest are discussed and representatives on the Diocesan and General Synods are elected. Minutes of the February 2017 Synod meeting are here (77 kB).
